Airport Recommendation: (BJX) Del Bajio Airport, Leon/Guanajuato. The Leon Airport is about an hour and fifteen-minute ride from San Miguel de Allende. It is by far the most used for traveling to the city. If this airport is not an option the best next choice (QRO) in Santiago de Queretaro. Both service direct flights from the U.S. Since we have many guests coming from as far away as South Africa, Moscow, Dubai, Latvia and Copenhagen, some of you may be forced to fly into Mexico City. Please be advised that this is not recommended if at all possible, as it is a 3.5-hour drive if you are fortunate enough to not hit the traffic hours. Our host has traveled this route in the past and with traffic traveled for 6 hours. If you intend to arrive via Mexico City, please contact J.T. for detailed instruction prior to booking your flight. Airport Transfers: It is easiest to taxi from the airport. Private transport is available.
